SUPERSTAR HIP-HOP ARTIST RELEASES HIS CHART-TOPPING ALBUM RELAPSE WITH FIVE UNRELEASED TRACKS TO TIDE FANS OVER TILL RELAPSE 2
Multi-platinum hip-hop artist Eminem will release Relapse: Refill on December 21ST, 2009, on Aftermath/Interscope Records. This re-release of Eminem’s chart-topping fifth studio album includes seven bonus tracks, including the single “Forever”, also featuring Drake, Kanye West, and Lil Wayne (previously found on the More Than A Game soundtrack), “Taking My Ball” (also released only with the DJ Hero video game), and five never-before-heard tracks.
“I want to deliver more material for the fans this year like I originally planned” Eminem says. “Hopefully these tracks on The Refill will tide the fans over until we put out Relapse 2 next year”. Eminem has been busy in the studio creating even more new material since Relapse was released. “I got back in with Dre and then a few more producers, including Just Blaze, and went in a completely different direction which made me start from scratch. The new tracks started to sound very different than the tracks I originally intended to be on Relapse 2, but I still want the other stuff to be heard.”
One of the most anticipated albums of the year, the platinum-selling Relapse entered the Billboard Top 200 album chart at No. 1 in May 2009 and sold more than 618,000 domestic copies in the U.S. in its first week. Relapse is also the top selling hip-hop album of 2009.

Once again, STILL could've been better
Well, it’s nice to see they released a “special” version of an album months after it came out AGAIN… These labels are REALLY getting annoying with this crap. I only heard the first Relapse, but didn’t buy it. This one I bought cause I had a gift card, but I thought that My Darling and Be Careful What You Wish For would be on here… DISAPPOINTMENT. Those are the two best songs two come out of the recording sessions for this album. Other than that, yeah, the album is cool. It’s not bad, and I admire the experimentation that Em and Dre went with (all artists need to experiment), but the album is still just decent. Eminem will probably never be as good as he was on his first three major releases, but hey…
Beats provided by Dr. Dre are good for the most part. The lyricism and variety of flows and rhythmic rhyme patterns are all on point. Eminem can still rap his a$$ off. Subject matter is kind of tired though. “I’ll kill you, I’m crazy, give me more drugs, blah blah blah vicodin, blah blah, Christopher Reeves, blah blah, incest, Chris Reeves AGAIN, blah blah blah…” The extra tracks are more of the same that was on the first disc and original version of the album. Not bad, but nothing spectacular. Well, except the Forever Remix, but that’s totally out of place. Drake, Lil Wayne, Kanye West and then Eminem is just on the last verse? WHY put it on here?? Whatever. I guess if you didn’t buy the first edition, but were kind of on the fence about buying it, this would be the better choice. At least you get more for your money. All I’m saying is that I hope Relapse 2 is a better effort because this was really a letdown. DON’T call THIS a comeback.
Refill? Yes, please!
The only negative is that the only way to buy the 7 additional tracks is by purchasing the Relapse CD again. It would’ve been nice to buy the refill as a stand-alone CD. Besides that, the CD does not disappoint. The songs all continue with the same theme from Relapse. “Favor my favorite Graham Crackers with John Benet Rams. I guess a modern day Jack the Ripper is all that I am.” So if you liked the Relapse, you will love Refill. The beats are strong and Em does a solid job with the tracks.
Em is a legend
One of or THE best rapper(s) of all time, at least one of the best artists in the past 10 years.
A Few tracks stand out, but it’s obvious this is NOT his best work.
Regardless, I will support him in everything he does, if you were to pick 1 CD not to buy of Em; this is it.
Good overall, but lacking his origanal awesomeness.
The King of Rap is Back!
Eminem is back with a vengeance! His fire is still lit & Burning hotter than ever! He murders it, rips it up & spits it out. He is so far ahead of his time, no one can even touch him lyrically, creatively, let alone look his way. This new release furthers his position as the king of the hill in the music world! Buy this album !
Eminem's long awaited return?
People who listen to and like Eminem noticed when he essentially vanished for three years. So when Relapse came out, with a promise of Relaspe 2, I was intrigued. It is definitely a different Eminem. Oh, same style, but you can hear that he’s grown in “Beautiful” “Deja Vu” and “Careful What You Wish For” more fine weather fans will hear the Eminem they are used to in tracks like “We Made You” and “3 Am” “Bagpipes from Baghdad” is in that vein, but it seems a bit like his first few discs. recorded simply to be mean not to tell a story. All in all, if you like Eminem’s past records, pick this up. You won’t be disappointed. And if you like some of his older songs but kind of want new, more mature stuff? Pick it up as well. You will like a few of them
Who would want a refill of this???
Relapse was crap…..Relapse Refill is like pukein on a pile of crap. This double dippin has to stop, greedy rappers.
Relapse: Terrible album
This is Eminem’s worst album to date. This is Dr. Dre’s second worst album to date (first being 1996′s Aftermath). I have no idea how it sold so well, must have been on Eminem’s legendary name only. I was shocked how bad his new music was after his 5 year hiatus. I can’t stand the Arabic/Indian accent he does on every track. Lyrically he kills it as usual, but the songs are just boring.
There were one or two good tracks on this album. I’m glad to hear he is back to just killin tracks like Forever, Drop The World, the Despicable Freestyle, and Not Afraid. <
I am a huge Eminem and Dr. Dre fan, but wow, this album is terrible. I was really shocked how bad it was.
Refill for a wonderful Relapse.
Eminem took a long time off between albums and it was well worth the wait. Amazing songs, beats, lyrics, he just never disappoints. One of his best albums to date and this one was re-released after Relapse with 8 additional songs. Buy it, you’ll love it. Crack a Bottle!
Buy the album AGAIN so I can get 7 more songs???
My star rating has nothing to do with the quality of the music on this record. It is reflective of the fact that fans who already purchased Relapse were forced to purchase the same album again if they wanted the extra 7 songs. Eminem said that he released this record so that the fans didn’t have to wait for his new stuff. So, why not make an EP available for those fans who already bought Relapse in May? How dedicated are the fans that waited until December to buy it??? I know you can buy the MP3s but I prefer to buy the disc. The fact of the matter is that this album was released not for the fans but for the $$$.
Dope!!!!
I’m pretty sure these 7 extra songs at least 6 of them were recorded for Relapse 2 but he heard all the people complaining about the voice and all on Relapse so he is rerecording the whole Relapse 2 for us so it will be classic. But needless to say the 7 songs on here are well worth buying the CD the songs are great I love them.
